Animaux dans des contextes phénico-puniques de Méditerranée centrale (2017)

Le projet vise à réaliser une étude des utilisations, des fonctions et du symbolisme des animaux dans la culture religieuse phénicienne et punique à travers une étude multidisciplinaire qui se propose de promouvoir l’interaction entre les sciences de la nature et celles de la culture sur des sites « pilotes » localisés en Sicile et en Sardaigne.
Il s’agit donc, dans un premier temps, de faciliter la mise en oeuvre des études archéozoologiques (avec possibilité à plus long terme dans le cas où le programme archéozoologique serait confié à un étudiant en master de l’UPVM) et d’autre part à poser les jalons de collaborations futures à travers les échanges pluridisciplinaires et la perspective d’une exposition consacrée à la religion phénico-punique au musée site Lattara (projet Diane Dusseaux, communication orale).

The aim of the project is to study the uses, functions and symbolism of animals in Phoenician and Punic religious culture through a multidisciplinary study which aims to promote interaction between the natural and cultural sciences on "pilot" sites located in Sicily and Sardinia.

The first step is to facilitate the implementation of archaeozoological studies (with a longer-term possibility in the event that the archaeozoological programme is entrusted to a masters student of the UPVM) and the second step is to lay the groundwork for future collaborations through multidisciplinary exchanges and the prospect of an exhibition devoted to Phoenician-Punic religion at the Lattara site museum (Diane Dusseaux project, oral communication).
