LANGPOP : Caractérisation des populations locales en Languedoc méditerranéen durant un millénaire(VIe s. av. J.-C./ VIe s. ap. J.-C.) : regards croisés entre archéologie et génétique (2018-2019)

Ce projet s’intéresse au peuplement en Languedoc méditerranéen du VIe s. av. J.-C. au VIe s. ap. J.-C. Ce domaine abordé à maintes reprises par le biais de la culture matérielle, des pratiques funéraires, ou encore de l’occupation des sols, constitue un sujet d’étude fécond car pour l’instant rarement abordé à cette échelle dans cette région. Que ce soit sous l’angle des invasions de la colonisation, ou par celui de l’acculturation ou du métissage, le peuplement languedocien reste par bien des aspects, à préciser. D’autant que cette région, est un passage obligé entre les péninsules italiennes et ibériques et le reste du continent. Elle constitue donc a priori une zone géographique idéale pour étudier les mouvements de populations. Nous proposons d’appréhender cette question de manière novatrice, par le prisme de la paléogénomique L’objectif est donc de caractériser le profil génétique des populations locales établies en Languedoc méditerranéen entre la fin du premier âge du Fer et la fin de l’Antiquité tardive.
This area, which has been approached many times through material culture, funerary practices, and land use, is a fruitful subject for study, because it is rarely discussed on this scale in this region. From the point of view of invasions, of colonization, or of acculturation the Languedoc population remains in many ways to be specified. Especially since this region is a necessary passage between the Italian and Iberian peninsulas and the rest of the continent. It is thus a priori an ideal geographical area to study population movements. We propose to approach this question in an innovative way, through the prism of paleogenomics. The objective is therefore to characterize the genetic profile of the local populations established in the Mediterranean Languedoc between the end of the first Iron Age and the end of Late Antiquity.
