Alimentation et Environnement à Ampurias (L’Escala, Gérone) du Bronze final à la période romaine

L’objectif principal de ce projet est de contribuer à la connaissance des pratiques alimentaires et de l’environnement du comptoir littoral d’Emporion-Emporiæ, Ampurias (L’Escala, Gérone), entre le Bronze final et la période romaine (IXe s. BC-Ve s. AD), au sein d’une communauté mixte constituée de colons et d’indigènes. Un volet important de ce projet sera d’analyser les restes bio-archéologiques (végétaux et animaux) pour chacune de ces deux périodes. Ces études (carpologie, anthracologie, ichtyofaune, faune mammaliène...), pour la plupart inédites ou partielles, fourniront des données essentielles pour approfondir les connaissances, non seulement sur ce site, mais aussi par comparaison sur d’autres comptoirs littoraux méditerranéennes comme en Provence (par ex. Marseille) et en Languedoc (par ex. Pech Maho, La Monédière, Lattara et Le Cailar), et ce sur la longue durée.

The main aim of this project is to contribute to the knowledge of food practices and ancient environment of the coastal trading post of Emporion-Emporiæ, Ampurias (L'Escala, Girona) from the Final Bronze age and the Roman period (9th c. BC-5th c. AD) and within a mixed community formed by settlers and natives. An important component of this project will be to analyse bio-archaeological remains (plants and animals) for each of the two periods. These studies (seeds and fruit, charcoal, fish fauna, mammals...), most currently unpublished or partial, will provide over a long period essential data to increase knowledge not only on this site but also by comparison on other Mediterranean coastal trade posts from Provence (eg. Marseille) and the Languedoc (eg. Pech Maho, La Monédière, Lattara and Le Cailar).
