The main objective of this project is to contribute to the understanding of the food and environmental practices of the coastline of Emporion-Emporiæ, Ampurias (L'Escala,

Girona), between the final Bronze and the Roman period (9th century BC - 5th century AD), in a mixed community of settlers and natives. An important part of this project will be to analyse the bio-archaeological remains (plants and animals) for each of these two periods. These studies (carpology, anthracology, ichthyofauna, mammalian fauna, etc.), mostly unpublished or partial, will provide essential data to deepen understanding, not only on this site, but also by comparison with other Mediterranean littoral counters such as in Provence (e.g. Marseille) and in Languedoc (e.g. Pech Maho, La Monédière, Lattara and Le Cailar), and this over the long term.
